Hello emerging musicians!

My name is Julia, and I am so excited to be joining the team. Originally from northern California, I moved to Townsville in 2017 for marine science and outdoor education. After a few years of singing, uke in hand under an ocean sky, I've returned to music full time and am enjoying getting into the Townville gig scene. 

I have been singing from forever. My love for music started with musical theatre and, growing up in California, I sang competitively starting with show choir (think Glee) in primary school then went on to be classically trained. I had many amazing experiences performing in competitive choirs in high school and university with opportunities to sing internationally. I also performed in an A Capella group during university in with performances around Atlanta. Lastly, Townsville school kids may recognize me from the many campfire sing-a-long sessions I led as a former outdoor educator.

What I teach: Singing, Ukulele

Music genres: Anything from classical, musical theatre (a personal favourite) and contemporary styles

Interests: Vocal health, confidence building, bringing emotion to your cover or orginal songs!

First lesson: Come prepared with a song or two that you enjoy singings. Remember, lessons are where we are supposed to make mistakes while finding our sound.
